Not a long post this time! Yet a very interesting one if you ask me! The following recipe is super easy to make but will boost your meals to a higher level. I’m talking about the “Grilled Lemon Jalapeno Butter”. I strongly advice to make some extra! You won’t regret to have some leftovers by hand in the freezer. Btw those paying a little attention will see what’s coming online soon!

The power of lemon jalapeno butter
Why? Simply because the lemon jalapeno butter is adding depth to your meals in no time. It pimps your grilled vegetables in no time to a culinary sidedish and brings balance to meals like the smoked chili I’ll post later on. It brings a delicious balanced creamy taste with a slightly acidic yet powerful touch. Think about grilling some mushrooms or corn cobs and finish them with the lemon jalapeno butter.

You could add some more depth by smoking the butter in advance. This way you can add a smoky taste when cooking indoors. If you’d like a subtle smoke taste you can cold smoke the butter for about 2-3 hours with apple wood. I’ve done it before in my barbecook smoker (a cheaper version of the smoky mountain) with good succes. Unfortunately the low price lead to rust soon and it’s falling apart now. At the moment I’m trying to smoke in my kamado with a cold smoke generator like this one but it doesn’t seem to work… Any advice is welcome.

This sounds delicious but can you clarify something? When you say “I added the whole lemon” do you mean you added the juice of the entire lemon, or you added the entire lemon including rind, pulp and juice?
I love lemon myself, so I might actually puree or mince the entire grilled lemon and throw it in just to see how it turns out.
Good you ask 🙂 I used the juice of a whole lemon indeed 🙂 Don’t know how a whole grilled lemon would taste… might get bitter?
Good Luck and hope to read about your experiences 🙂
