These grilled sardines will help your urge for fire roasted food! Serve it with a delicious white wine to kick of you summer party with style! Slipping the sardines in my mouth I suddenly felt like I was eating out in the South of Europe! Grilled Sardines

Summer yells for refreshing meals! With these grilled sardines you’ll surprise your guests for sure! Served with a delicious white wine like the Marceau le Blanc you’ll be kicking off your party in style! Enjoy the good life.

Ingredients
  

  • 100 gr. sardines
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp hazelnut oil
  • 1/2 handful of lemon verbena
  • 1/2 handful of cilantro
  • 1 tsp thinly chopped chili peppers
  • zeste of a half lemon
  • lemon juice at taste
  • salt and pepper at taste

Instructions
 

  • Clean the sardines by gently stroking them from the tail to the head to remove it’s small scales. Make a thin cut in the belly and remove the intestins. Rinse under clean water and put aside in a bowl to marinate.
  • Mix the oils, lemon verbena, cilantro, lemon zeste and peppers and pour over the cleanded sardines.
  • Put the marinated sardines in the fridge for an hour. Meanwhile start the grill on high heat.
  • Grill the sardines about two minutes each side. Watch out they don’t stick on your grill.
  • Put the grilled sardines in a tray and sprinkle with lemon juice, salt and pepper at taste. Add some fresh lemon zeste at taste for some bright colours and flavor pops.
